  • Ashley Brock - Personal ID
Here is an insight into the creation of my personal identity.

I wanted to develop a new look purely based on myself as a designer rather than an identity that represents my approach, style, motives, ideology, etc. The concept is based around something that is personal and unique to me - my signature - whilst drawing upon certain values that can be seen across my work.. simplicity, minimalism and geometry.

  • Curris
This is my route for an overseas Utilities and Facilities Management branding project. This route explores the symbol that represents positivity whilst also being a reflection on the services that Curris provide. Because the offering is organic and services have potential to change/grow, I have designed the mark to make it fluid and adaptable in its look.

This organic feel also reflects the business and creates an interesting and ownable device that can be used as a key identifier and asset across the brand. The device can be used in a number of ways and can move, change shape or maybe even colour, to reflect the various range of services Curris provide.

  • Pholk
Pholk is a social club for young adults with and without disabilities. The club branches off from the charity Phab. Phab's aim is to "promote and encourage people of all abilities to come together on equal terms, and to achieve complete inclusion within the wider community".

We were tasked with developing a new brand image that is completely inclusive, non-patronising, and an identity with a grown up look and feel whilst aligning with Phab, the parent organisation. My route explores a symbol that represents an embrace, or a comforting hug. I wanted to create a mark that was identifiable and relevant, but also something that can be used as a device across a variety of media.

  • Elitescapes
Elitescapes - website layout for a Landscape Design and Construction company based in the Southern home counties. The client wanted a new website based around their current identity, keeping the logo, typeface and grey/purple/green palette intact.

  • Resource Action Software
This is the identity for an up and coming app software company - Resource Action Software.

Though I had quite a bit of creative freedom with this project, the client wanted the mark to be based around a guillotine, blade-esque form to subtly represent the term "Resource Action". He also wanted the logo to be adaptable for the future, should the company want to explore other fields apart from software. With this in mind, I wanted to create a mark that was identifiable, ownable and sustainable, but also versatile.

  • Adaptive Fighting Arts
Adaptive Fighting Arts - Redrawn logo for a local martial arts course.

The client wanted a mark that reflected adaptability - representing the teaching services provided as well as the principles of various martial arts. The concept is quite clearly based around the yin yang symbol which reinforces the name and values of the company.

  • KB Brickwork
This was an identity created for KB Brickwork - a professional, self-employed bricklayer specialising in a range of masonry services.

The mark takes on a sharp-edged, geometric form to reflect the contours of a brick and a building type structure, whilst adopting the shape of a "k". The slant on the ascender ok the "k" partly represents the edging of a roof, but is also a subtle representation of the diversity of services provided. The arm of the "k" (on the right) can also be interpreted as roof edging, or a roof gutter, with a typical house type form seen below to complete the device.
